Right now we’re focused on getting our DA over the line in Brookvale, but there’s also an opportunity to help build and create a venue in Bucketty, or even a short term pop-up venue while rents are cheap and the world is full of uncertainty.

Would you like to start a brewery with us?

Bucketty’s Brewery is building a good-times factory in Brookvale and we need an experienced venue manager to help us make it a success (read – not screw it up!).

Our planned 120 capacity tap room in the heart of the Brookvale brewery precinct will be serving an array of fresh brews, catering from the delicious low ABV lagers through to triple IPA’s that only the most bearded, tattooed vikings can wrestle down their throat.

Food will be supplied through our own food truck, which will be part of your role to manage.

But it’s not really about the beer or the food. It’s about creating a welcoming and comfortable space for our community to enjoy each other’s company. Because life tastes better with beer.

Our mission is to make sure our customers have an incredible time and leave with a smile on their face, looking forward to telling their friends about this rad new brewery that “you have to check out”.

Now, we don’t have much experience in hospitality, so it’s essential you do if you’re to join our team.

You also need to be up for, and have experience in:

  • Leading, inspiring and managing a team.
  • Working on your feet – full time.
  • Hiring, training and maintaining motivation with hospo staff.
  • Politely dealing with drunk dickheads and moving them along.
  • Drinking a lot of craft beer.
  • Doing whatever it takes to get the job done.

My wife and I recently bought a block of land in the little-known suburb of Bucketty, about an hour north of Sydney, on the southern rim of the Hunter Valley.

There’s heaps of amazing, untouched bush and a remarkable local community, and I hope to establish a brewery and be pouring the first beer within the next two years.
